I’m Hungry A0 – Activity 5

Aim of Activity

25 minutes

Practising ability to ask and answer simple questions about food we like and dislike.

Steps for Students

Click the link: ACTIVITY 5

  1. Get into pairs.
  2. Student 1: choose a card or spin the mystery wheel, Do not share the word with your partner.
  3. Student 2: ask simple questions to guess the mystery word. After you guess right, switch roles.

Example: The mystery word is ‘apple’.

A: Is it a sweet?
B: No, it isn’t.
A: Is it a fruit?
B: Yes, it is.
A: Is it red?
B: Yes, it is.
A: Is it round?
B: Yes, it is.
A: Is it tiny?
B: No, it isn’t.
A: Is it an apple?
B: Yes, it is.
A: Do you like it?
B: Yes, I do.

Equipment needed: printed flashcard sets for each pair of students or a tablet/mobile phone for each pair of students, internet connection.

This activity is primarily focused on practising students’ pronunciation, so correct them if you hear any mistakes. Print out a flashcard set from the attachment for each pair of students or they can use a personal device to spin for a word here: ACTIVITY 5

 

TIP!

A pair of students share one device, one student spins the wheel and keeps the word in mind. After guessing the word, they switch roles.
