My Journey to School A1 – Activity 5

Aim of Activity

30 minutes

A group work speaking activity to:

  • practice forming questions, using question words- who, what, when, where, why, how
  • answering yes/no questions using means of transport vocabulary and adverbs of frequency giving opinion talking about a habit showing knowledge

Steps for Students

  1. In your team, choose a question. Answer the question or unjumble the sentence/answer.
  2. The winner is the team with the most points.

  2. Play the game in teams on an interactive board. Teams can be removed or added by clicking +/- at the lower left corner.
  3. There are 30 questions testing the grammar and developing speaking skills (jumbled questions, WH questions, team opinion questions, questions about habits and knowledge questions)
  4. Teams choose questions to answer correctly.
  5. Each question has points according to the difficulty (100 – 500 points)
  6. Click the icon at the lower right corner to set a timer for the questions.

 

TIP!

In questions which are not focused on grammar, it is up to the teacher to assess the correct answers depending on the level of English of the students, specifically in the questions Say a definition.
